Qualifications

• 10+ years of design-engineering experience.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and managing direct reports.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and precision manufacturing.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and related design tools.
• Experience guiding projects from concept to 3D model, prints, tolerances, and manufacturability reviews.
• Proven ability to improve engineering workflows, productivity, quality, and cost performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of mechanical design engineers.
• Set goals, give actionable feedback, manage performance, and support development planning.
• Foster accountability, urgency, collaboration, and follow-through.
• Optimize workflows to improve throughput and reduce waste.
• Identify problems early and act to protect quality, cost, and delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex design and production challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.
• Guide engineers through concept development, 3D modeling, drawings, tolerances, and manufacturability reviews.
• Ensure deliverables meet customer expectations and internal quality standards.
• Own and monitor department performance indicators and budget.
