Job summary

Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, Inc. in Walker, MI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team focused on the design, development, and deployment of advanced mechanical systems for conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, and custom machinery.

You will establish design standards, conduct design reviews and DFMEA, and drive process improvements to deliver reliable, cost-efficient solutions meeting customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams and global projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design and development of mechanical systems for conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, and custom machinery.
• Establishes engineering standards for design, analysis, documentation, and validation.
• Reviews and approves designs, drawings, calculations, and BOMs.
• Leads design reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments.
• Improves engineering processes and documentation.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on the design, development, and deployment of advanced mechanical systems for industrial material handling applications.

This role combines technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

Job Duties

• Leads the design and development of mechanical systems for conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, and custom machinery
• Establishes engineering standards for design, analysis, documentation, and validation

• Leads design reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments
• Improves engineering processes and documentation

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
• 3+ years experience leading engineering teams
• Demonstrated proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo)
• Global project support experience preferred
• Expertise in PDM Management
• Material handling or warehouse automation experience preferred
• Knowledge of mechatronics and robotics
