Education and Experience of Mechanical Engineering Manager:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; advanced technical training or leadership experience preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, or automation systems.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams, managing cross-functional projects, and driving product development initiatives.
- Strong background in parametric modeling, machine design, and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities of Mechanical Engineering Manager:
- Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through production while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Manage and mentor engineers, designers, and drafters to support efficient project execution and team development.
- Oversee machine, automation, and product design activities including modeling, analysis, and technical reviews.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with manufacturing, operations, sales, and customers to deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Develop and approve engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, ECNs, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and design progress while resolving technical and scheduling issues.
- Support customer interactions, installation guidance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications of Mechanical Engineering Manager:
- Strong leadership and project management experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex technical projects.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD systems and 2D/3D parametric modeling for machinery, automation, and product design.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing processes, and fabrication methods including machining, welding, laser cutting, and assembly.
- Expertise in automation systems, robotics integration, conveyors, palletizers, and industrial work cell design.
- Solid understanding of structural and thermal analysis, ergonomic principles, and industrial equipment development.
- Experience with industrial coating and finishing processes including powder coating, anodizing, and galvanizing.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
