Job summary

Arup in Seattle seeks an Associate Principal - Mechanical or Electrical Healthcare Leader to join our multidisciplinary West Coast Science team. You will lead healthcare design projects, coordinate multiple disciplines, and drive sustainable solutions while strengthening client relations.

The role requires a PE license or ability to obtain within six months, a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering, and 15+ years in related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in designing mechanical or electrical building systems.
• Experience leading healthcare project teams on medium to large scale projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and manage complex client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Leader/Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary healthcare design projects.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and work with project managers for integrated design deliverables.
• Oversee quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineers across offices with focus on sustainable design.
• Lead business development activities including client outreach, proposals, and bids.
• Maintain strong client relations relating to project delivery and repeat business.
• Represent Arup in industry at national/international levels and think tanks.
