SSOE is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Boise, Idaho. The Spring 2027 period is part-time, with the Summer 2027 period expected to be full-time. This onsite role requires working at the Boise location daily; remote or hybrid work is not available.

Responsibilities include applying thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics concepts, CAD design (Revit/AutoCAD), and adherence to department standards. Occasional local travel and a valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
• Must be registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Performs assigned tasks under close supervision of Department Manager or designee.
• Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, CAD (Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D design software).
• Learns and uses department standards, methods, and procedures.
• Meets various deadlines on daily duties or special projects as assigned by DM or designee.
• Occasional local travel may be required.
• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

• Learns and uses department standards, methods, and procedures respective to field of study.

• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Qualifications

• Students must be enrolled in a ABET accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical Engineering or technically related discipline.
• Rising Junior or Senior academic year preferred.
• Must be registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Salary range: $20-$23 per hour depending on year in school.
