Charter Steel in Saukville, Wisconsin, offers a Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Internship that provides hands-on experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office while supporting real-world maintenance and engineering projects.

You will partner with the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on plant projects, assist with machine design and layout improvements, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, operations and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to succeed in a team environment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks

Responsabilités

• Partner with the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on hands-on engineering projects throughout the processing plant
• Support machine design and equipment upgrades, including part design and plant layout improvements
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing plant operations, safety, and efficiency
• Incorporate safety and environmental considerations into equipment and process designs
• Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to support projects from design through implementation
