Job summary

Charter Manufacturing invites a Mechanical Engineering student to join Charter Steel in Saukville, WI as an intern. You will gain hands-on experience across engineering, maintenance, quality, and production, focusing on process improvements, safety, and equipment upgrades.

The program offers part-time hours during the academic year (15–20 hours/week) and full-time (40 hours/week) in the summer, with a May 2027 start.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• GPA 2.75+ required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Create and update engineering drawings for equipment and process needs.
• Support safety and ergonomic improvement projects site-wide.
• Lead process improvement projects from concept to implementation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and internal teams on projects.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Gain hands-on exposure to mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
