Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Rock Island, IL to support analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for vertical building projects. Over a 10–12 week summer term, you will work with experienced engineers and consultants on real project work and observe job sites to gain hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems.
• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Support project work within the project's budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly.
