Job summary

Novelis in Guthrie, KY has an on-site summer 2027 internship opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern for approximately 12 weeks. The intern will gain hands-on industry experience by working on engineering projects under supervision.

Responsibilities include learning about industrial machinery, supporting projects, modifying drawings, and troubleshooting equipment, with mentorship from the Engineering Leader and staff engineers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University (Sophomore, Junior, Senior or recent graduate).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission systems, and pumping systems.
• Provide support for Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects.
• Perform Engineering drawing modifications.
• Troubleshoot industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces.
• Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement reliability and maintenance standards.
