Job summary

Novelis in Davenport, IA has an on-site summer 2027 internship opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering intern for about 12 weeks. The intern will gain hands-on experience by working on industrial machinery, power transmission systems, and maintenance projects under supervision of experienced engineers.

The role reports to the Associate EMRA Leader and offers exposure to aluminum rolling lines, reliability methods, and cross-functional teamwork in a manufacturing environment aimed at learning

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year university; must be a Junior or Senior.
• Interest in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission systems, and pumping systems.
• Provide support for mechanical or reliability engineering projects.
• Perform engineering drawing modifications.
• Troubleshoot industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces.
• Work under staff engineers to implement latest reliability and maintenance standards.
