Job summary

Novelis in Guthrie, KY offers a on-site summer 2027 internship for a Mechanical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience over ~12 weeks. The role reports to the Engineering Leader and provides exposure to engineers and local teams.

Preferred candidates are Mechanical Engineering majors with familiarity in MS Office and AutoCAD, plus basic metrology tools. Housing/relocation stipend may be offered for out-of-state interns.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Interest in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission systems, and pumping systems.
• Provide support for various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects.
• Perform Engineering drawing modifications.
• Troubleshoot a variety of industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces.
• Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement the latest reliability and maintenance standards to equipment.
