Job summary

Wight & Company in Darien, IL is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with our mechanical engineering team on design processes, collaborate with architects and construction managers, and gain hands-on experience in a nationally recognized firm.

This paid internship offers exposure to RevIt BIM, on-site meetings, and meaningful project contributions while you complete a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Good organization and computer skills
• Revit building information modelling experience preferred
• Openness to learn and have fun

Responsibilities

• Work with Junior and Senior Engineers to develop creative solutions to design challenges
• Expand upon existing technical and computer skills to aid with day-to-day activities
• Attend team and client meetings in-house and on-site
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external client relations
• Provide meaningful contributions to project advancement and completion
