Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support our Fairfax, VA office. You will assist in designing mechanical systems and producing construction documents for diverse projects while gaining hands-on experience with BIM tools and energy modeling.

The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and collaboration across disciplines, with exposure to HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety planning in commercial and institutional settings.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit MEP, and Trane Trace is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and production of mechanical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects.
• Assist with the design of building systems (HVAC and plumbing) and life-safety plans.
• Assist with load calculations, energy modeling, BIM tasks and related duties.
