Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work in our Fairfax, VA office. You will collaborate with a multi-discipline team to assist in the design and production of mechanical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects, focusing on HVAC and plumbing and life safety plans.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and production of mechanical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects, focusing on HVAC and plumbing and life safety plans.
• Support system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, and energy modeling.
• Participate in BIM workflows and coordinate with multi-discipline teams on building projects.
