Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in McConnellsburg, PA. You will design, model and test new mechanical systems and support manufacturing and operations with CAD and engineering calculations.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering with a 3.0+ GPA, have CAD experience (Creo, Pro/E, CATIA), and strong communication skills. The role blends office work with on-site prototyping and production support.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Previous internship or work-related experience.
• Interest in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CAD systems such as Creo Parametric, Pro/Engineering, or CATIA is a plus.
• Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles.
• Knowledge of construction industry and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with JLG’s.
• Research and execute CIRs to support manufacturing, supply chain, and customer feedback/operations.
• Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (Creo Parametric).
• Create and manage ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM system.
• Update bill of materials in the PDM system to reflect product changes.
• Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.
• Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
• Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.
• Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.
