Job summary

Oshkosh Defense, an Oshkosh company, invites motivated mechanical engineering students to join our Summer 2027 internship program in Oshkosh, WI. You will assist engineers across design, production and test, work with CAD tools, and contribute to vehicle development on prototype and production builds.

You will engage in weight/cost/reliability tradeoffs, perform calculations, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver solutions and learning opportunities in a manufacturing

Qualifications

Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field for the duration of the internship.
Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for Summer 2027 with relocation assistance if needed.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software CATIA or Creo, selecting parts for weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production builds and provide technical assistance.
Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimations.
Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to solve problems and support testing.
