Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an NPD Engineering Intern in Frederick, MD. You will design and test mechanical systems, work with global engineering resources, and update BOMs and ECNs in PLM/PDM systems.

This hands-on role offers exposure to prototype builds and continuous improvement projects within the Scissor NPD Engineering team. The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 3.0+ GPA, and CAD experience (Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA).

Qualifications

• Student working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Previous internship experience or work-related experience.
• Experience using Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus.
• Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles.
• Knowledge of construction industry and equipment used.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, model and test mechanical systems that integrate with JLG products.
• Research and implement CIRs to support manufacturing and operations.
• Prepare and review vehicle component layouts using CAD tools.
• Update BOMs and ECNs in PLM/PDM systems.
• Support prototype, pilot, or production builds on the assembly floor.
• Generate calculations for weight distribution and stress analysis.
