Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Webster, NY. This role supports the Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering team with design, testing, and documentation of advanced laser-based manufacturing systems.

You will assist with engineering drawings, GD&T reviews, and BOM updates, while contributing to cost-saving and product improvement projects. You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and tooling teams and gain hands-on exposure to the full product

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently enrolled in or pursuing a BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar engineering field.
• Internship experience or a major project is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on mechanical components using CAD tools, translating concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers across the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Apply engineering fundamentals in materials science and mechanical tolerancing in a real-world product environment.
• Participate in design reviews, providing fresh perspectives that influence product outcomes.
• Support testing activities to verify product performance against requirements and standards.
• Engage with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to build a professional network.

Education

BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering (or related)
