Job summary

As a Mechanical Engineering co-op at MKS, you will work within the Direct Pressure Engineering group to support the design, analysis, build and test of capacitance sensors and transducers. You will report to Sr Mgr, Engineering.

Intern / Co-op Program Overview: 6-month co-op assignment within a functional area of MKS Inc. that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after your program ends.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Mechanical Engineering at UMass Lowell.
• Comfortable with standard hand tools for electromechanical devices and test systems.
• SolidWorks CAD modeling experience.
• Experience with data processing using Excel, MATLAB or Python.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and production to build prototype designs.
• Help diagnose production-related issues with sensor performance.
• Perform mechanical/thermal analyses using SolidWorks/COMSOL with guidance.
• Test pressure transducers at sensor and system levels.
• Analyze test data and produce detailed reports.
• Support design and troubleshooting of test systems.
• Design and fabricate test equipment via 3D printing, CNC milling, etc.
