Job summary

MKS Inc. in Andover, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op within the Direct Pressure Engineering group. You will partner with engineering to support the design, analysis, build and test of capacitance sensors and transducers, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

You will build prototypes, diagnose production issues, perform SolidWorks/COMSOL analyses, test transducers, analyze data and help design test equipment through 3D printing and CNC milling. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiar with SolidWorks CAD modeling.
• Experience with data processing in Excel, MATLAB, or Python.
• Comfortable using standard hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, analysis, build and test of capacitance sensors and transducers.
• Build prototype designs and help diagnose production issues.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analyses using SolidWorks and COMSOL.
• Test sensors and analyze data to support test reports.
• Assist in designing and fabricating test equipment via 3D printing or CNC milling.
