Job summary

MKS is offering a six-month Mechanical Engineering co-op in Massachusetts starting January 2027. You will collaborate with engineering and production to design, build, and test capacitance sensors and transducers, gaining hands-on experience in product development and testing.

This program emphasizes meaningful work, exposure to different divisions, and reporting to senior engineers. Compensation includes hourly pay range $23–$31 and benefits; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Comfortable with using standard hand tools for building electromechanical devices and test systems.
• SolidWorks CAD modeling experience.
• Microsoft Excel, MATLAB or Python scripting for data processing.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype designs with engineering and production.
• Diagnose production issues affecting sensor performance.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analyses with SolidWorks or COMSOL.
• Test pressure transducers at sensor and system levels.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports.
• Support design and troubleshooting of test systems.
• Design and fabricate test equipment via 3D printing, CNC milling.
• Travel up to 10%.
