Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op Intern in Raleigh, NC to work with a team of engineers on analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for the building industry. The internship will run for 3–12 months, giving you hands-on experience within project budgets and client expectations.

You will assist with design work, resource research, documentation, and coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.

Qualifications

• Two years of coursework toward a BS in Mechanical Engineering are required.
• Prior internship in building design consulting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects per codes and IMEG standards.
• Research resources for commercially available equipment.
• Document design decisions and client instructions for project records.
• Coordinate design and schedule with disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, and equipment suppliers.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required by the contract.
