Job summary

IAP World Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems supporting intelligence and defense missions in a fast-paced, classified environment.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, failure analyses, coordinating with electrical/software engineers, documenting designs, and ensuring safety compliance; TS SCI clearance is preferred or required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in classified or high-security environments is highly desirable.

• Conduct engineering assessments, failure analyses, and performance evaluations to ensure system integrity and operational effectiveness.

• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, schematics, and CAD models.
• Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot mechanical issues and design improvements.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems in controlled and operational environments.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, safety regulations, and mission requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Experience working in classified or high-security environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, robotics, or unmanned systems.
• Knowledge of thermal, structural, or fluid system simulations.
• Familiarity with project management tools and systems engineering processes.
