Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze mechanical systems, components, and assemblies in support of intelligence and national security missions.
• Conduct engineering assessments, failure analyses, and performance evaluations to ensure system integrity and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and program managers, to integrate mechanical solutions into complex systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, schematics, and CAD models.
• Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend design improvements.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems under controlled and operational environments.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, safety regulations, and mission requirements.

Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. As the Mechanical Engineer , you will be designing, analyzing, and implementing mechanical systems and components that enhance the performance, reliability, and safety of advanced intelligence and defense technologies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, robotics, or unmanned systems.
• Knowledge of thermal, structural, or fluid system simulations.
• Familiarity with project management tools and systems engineering processes.
