Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance and minor construction in facilities across Maryland and nearby regions.

The role covers preventative maintenance, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and safety-related tasks. A high school diploma and 5 years of general work experience are required, along with an active Top Secret SCI W/ CI Poly clearance.

Qualifications

• 5 years general work experience in trades, labor, or custodial work.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures and use of common hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance for building systems, including floors, walls, finishes, hardware, alarm hardware, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Repair facilities structures and components, minor plumbing, low-voltage and line-voltage electrical systems, door hardware, and fire safety equipment.
• Assist with maintenance of induction, air handling, and refrigeration units; serve, clean, and inspect related equipment.
• Maintain and install waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems.
• Assist in welding or fabricating tasks as needed.
• Maintain recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repairs to facilities.
• Follow all safety procedures of company and project.

As the General Maintenance Technician, you will perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, adjustments and minor construction work in the basic trades to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet Project Standards

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform preventative maintenance for building systems to include, floors, walls, finishes and hardware, alarm hardware, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems including controls, pumps, and motors.
• Repair facilities structures, systems, and components, including performing minor repairs to building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection/equipment systems, sprinkler systems, and assisting in structural and roof inspections.
• Assist with and learn the maintenance of induction, air handling, and refrigeration units, including serving, cleaning, and inspecting all related equipment.
• Maintain and install waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems.
• May assist in welding or fabricating tasks.
• Maintain recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair to the Facilities.
• Working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of college facilities.
• Understand and adhere to all safety procedures of company and project.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of general work experience, including trades, labor, or custodial work.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Knowledge of Common hand tools; basic recordkeeping techniques; basic workplace safety procedures; and basic use of personal computers to access automated recordkeeping tools.
