Job summary

ZelTech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the research, design, analysis, and prototyping of next-generation unmanned systems for a Government customer. You will contribute to mechanical design and systems integration across the full development lifecycle and advance mission-ready unmanned technologies.

Responsibilities include MBSE-driven design, CAD modeling, lab and field testing, and cross-functional collaboration with electrical and software teams.

Qualifications

• US citizen required.
• Active SECRET clearance required.
• Minimum 3 years in mechanical engineering, preferably for defense or aerospace.
• Experience applying MBSE using Cameo, SysML, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Hands-on fabrication and testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components for unmanned platforms.
• Conduct mechanical and structural analyses including load, vibration, thermal, and corrosion assessments.
• Apply MBSE to develop and manage system models across requirements, architecture, trades, and validation.
• Generate and revise CAD drawings, parts lists, diagrams, and manufacturing plans.
• Support integration and test activities in lab and field, troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Contribute to mechanical aspects of UxS prototype development and validation.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure integrated designs.
• Maintain accurate technical data and deliverables.
