Job summary

ZelTech seeks a Senior Naval Architect to lead design, analysis, and integration of surface and subsurface unmanned systems for a government customer. The ideal candidate will apply MBSE, MBSE-Cameo/SysML, and modeling tools to support lifecycle development and system integration.

Responsibilities include hull form design, hydrostatics, stability, and structural survivability evaluations, plus coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active SECRET clearance required.
• MA in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in naval platform design, unmanned maritime systems, or DoD ship design.
• Proficiency in hull/structural design software listed above.
• Experience with CAD/CFD and structural analysis tools.
• Experience applying MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to vessel design.
• Knowledge of Navy/USCG/class standards (ABS, DNV).
• Strong technical writing, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development, hull form design, and systems integration for manned/unmanned platforms.
• Perform hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seakeeping, and stability assessments.
• Conduct structural survivability evaluations per mission requirements.
• Support model testing, tank trials, CFD, and simulations.
• Ensure design compliance with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA standards.
• Apply MBSE to integrate system models with naval architecture designs.
• Develop and deliver technical data packages, drawings, and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across lifecycle stages.
• Participate in reviews, IPTs, and stakeholder meetings.
