Job summary

Anduril Industries in Quincy, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to advance a holistic support system for autonomous underwater vehicles, including deployment, maintenance, and recovery in rugged environments.

You will partner with vehicle design, field operations, and manufacturing to ensure effective mission execution and system reliability. A U.S. Secret level clearance is preferred, with 4+ years in maritime/defense mechanical design and hands-on fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of mechanical design and testing experience in defense/aerospace/maritime systems.
• Proven CAD skills and ability to produce high-quality drawings to standards.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within the Maritime group to design, develop, and deliver robust support systems.
• Refine mechanical solutions for launch/recovery, handling, and testing equipment.
• Select, qualify, and manage vendors for COTS components and outsourced work.
• Lead requirements definition and verification methodologies for support systems.
• Work with electrical, software, and mechanical teams to create integrated solutions.
• Lead design reviews, prototype, and implement hardware test plans.
