Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Nuclear Propulsion – Construction and Process Engineering area. The role focuses on waterfront and manufacturing support for Reactor Plant structures, coordinating with operations and engineering teams to maintain efficient construction.

Responsibilities include design verification, issue resolution, and developing SOPs, while ensuring compliance with design and quality requirements and maintaining safety and project schedules.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience using engineering design and analytical software.
• Understanding of reactor plant construction and project management.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design, verify and develop mechanical/electromechanical products and systems.
• Recommend options for safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
• Support transfer from R&D to manufacturing when needed.
• Apply research to planning, design, development and testing of systems.
• Analyze structural specs and modeling for metals and fixtures.
• Liaise between Engineering & Trades and the customer.
• Attend and support meetings on Reactor Plant structures.
• Provide timely resolutions to waterfront and shop issues.
