Job summary

HII Mission Technologies’ Nuclear Propulsion Overhaul Engineering Department (E81) seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for overhaul support of Aircraft Carriers and Submarines. The role develops engineering solutions, prepares technical direction, and provides hands-on waterfront support to modernize reactor plant mechanical systems during major maintenance availabilities.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with PCs, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and standard test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a confidential security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Researching and planning processes, tooling, and material requirements to deliver engineered solutions for nuclear work.
• Developing technical work instructions, procedures, and troubleshooting docs.
• Providing on-site support and resolving issues during shipboard or shop operations.
• Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Managing projects from initial planning through completion.
