Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a Senior Engineer Mechanical 3 to advance nuclear propulsion overhaul efforts. You will develop engineering solutions, prepare detailed technical direction, and provide hands-on waterfront support to upgrade Reactor Plant mechanical systems during major maintenance availabilities.

You will work in a team focused on delivering high-quality engineering services for Navy Nuclear Propulsion programs, with on-site responsibilities and rigorous technical standards.

Qualifications

• > 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
• > Proficient in PCs and standard desktop applications and test equipment (digital meters, oscilloscopes, gauges).
• > Must be proficient in SAP.
• > Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• > Must be able to obtain a confidential security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Researching and planning processes, tooling, and material requirements to deliver engineered solutions for nuclear work.
• Developing technical work instructions, including procedures and troubleshooting documentation.
• Providing on-site support and resolving issues during shipboard or shop operations.
• Identifying, researching, and implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Managing projects from initial planning through completion.
