Calqulate Metrics Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a hands-on role in heavy industrial steel operations. The position focuses on solving complex equipment challenges, leading projects, and improving plant performance on the shop floor and in upgrades.

The role involves troubleshooting, developing specifications, managing contractors, and executing capital projects from concept through completion in a demanding steel/heavy industrial environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking, metals, foundry, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with root-cause analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems across the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and efficiency.
• Support and manage melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades and installations.
• Provide engineering expertise for baghouse and environmental systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept through installation and completion.
• Develop scopes, specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Evaluate equipment suppliers and contractors, review proposals, and oversee outside resources.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other teams.
• Manage projects to budgets, schedules, safety requirements, and performance expectations.
• Travel locally and internationally as needed.
