Staffing Pros, a division of VETS-inc, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design rugged, IP-rated enclosures and components for mobile communication products, onsite in San Diego, CA. You will use Creo to develop 3D CAD models and drawings, and perform thermal and structural analyses to optimize weight and performance.

The ideal candidate has a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience, hands-on prototyping, and DFMA mindset, coordinating with vendors to move designs from prototype

Formación

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with Creo or SolidWorks.
• Designing ruggedized, IP-rated enclosures and components.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsabilidades

• Design ruggedized IP-rated enclosure, seals and gasket to meet IP54 and above ingress protection.
• Execute designs of plastic parts for injection molding, metal parts for die castings, sheet metal parts for stamping fabrication and CNC’d parts on 3D CAD system (PTC Creo 8 and above).
• Hands-on fabrication and assembly of prototype parts (3D printing, SLA, CNC).
• Generate detailed drawings for PCBs, EMI shields, enclosure mechanical parts, cable assemblies.
• Analyze mechanical systems for structural integrity using static/dynamic calculations.
• Design lightweight mechanical structures for drone aviation.
• Perform heat transfer calculations and thermal/structural simulations to optimize size/weight.
• Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
• Design verification testing using MIL-STD-810 profiles.
