Job summary

Our Client in San Diego seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of physical hardware, from concept through manufacture. You will design ruggedized enclosures, including dongle cases and bridge boxes, for ground station and drone integration.

The role leverages in-house 3D printing for rapid prototyping, with travel for field testing and demonstrations. You’ll also develop drone attachments, mechanisms, and packaging systems to survive demanding deployment environments.

Qualifications

• Experience owning the full hardware lifecycle from concept through manufacture.
• Prototyping and rapid iteration using in-house 3D printing.
• Ability to design for ruggedized enclosures and field deployment.
• Willingness to travel for field tests and demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee manufacture of Dongle Cases, Bridge Boxes, and ruggedized enclosures.
• Specify, source, and customize swarm packaging (Pelican cases and foam inserts).
• Design, test, and manufacture drone attachments and mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering on prototyping, validation, and field testing.
