Verito Solutions in San Diego, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design rugged IP-rated enclosures and components for drone applications. The role requires 5+ years of ME experience, strong CAE/FEA usage, and proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks.

You will prototype, test, and optimize parts for manufacturability and performance. The engineer will collaborate across design, packaging, and manufacturing teams, delivering detailed drawings, BOMs, and design reviews while adhering to MIL-STD-810

Formación

• Minimum 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo or SolidWorks).
• Strong background in mechanics, solid mechanics and heat transfer.
• Experience using FEA tools.

Responsabilidades

• Design ruggedized IP-rated enclosures, seals and gaskets per IP54+ ingress protection.
• Create plastic parts for injection molding; metal parts for die casting, sheet metal, and CNCed parts in Creo 8+.
• Fabricate and assemble prototypes via rapid prototyping (3D printing, SLA, CNC).
• Generate detailed drawings for PCBs, EMI shields, enclosure parts, cable assemblies.
• Analyze mechanical systems for structural integrity using static and dynamic calculations.
• Design lightweight mechanical structures for drone aviation using magnesium casting.
• Perform heat transfer calculations and basic heat transfer analyses.
• Use FEA tools for thermal and structural simulations to optimize size/weight.
• Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
• Perform design verification testing (DVT) per MIL-STD-810 (vibration, shock, temperature).
• Design for EMI/RFI shielding with shielding techniques.
• Check ECAD/MCAD interfaces for part interference.
• Create board constraint inputs for electrical board design.
• Generate reports, presentations, and design reviews.
• Create Bills of Materials and perform cost analysis.

Job Description

Position: Mechanical Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA - (Onsite)

MUST HAVES

• minimum 5+ year experience
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• Experienced in 3D CAD systems such as Creo or SolidWorks
• Strong theoretical background in mechanics of systems, solid mechanics, and heat transfer
• Experience in using finite element analysis - FEA tools

Responsibilities

• Design ruggedized IP-rated enclosure, seals and gasket to meet IP54 and above ingress protection
• Execute designs of plastic parts for injection molding, metal parts for die castings, sheet metal parts for stamping fabrication and CNC’d parts on 3D CAD system (PTC Creo 8 and above)
• Hands-on fabrication and assembly of prototype parts involving rapid prototyping such as 3-D printing, SLA, CNC and proto tooling
• Generate detailed drawings for PCBs, board assemblies, EMI shields, enclosure mechanical parts, cable assemblies and fabrication/tooling
• Analyze mechanical systems and assemblies for structural integrity using classical static and dynamic calculations
• Design light weight mechanical structures for drone aviation using magnesium casting
• Perform heat transfer calculations with basic heat transfer equations
• Perform thermal and structural simulations using Finite Element Analysis software tools to optimize size and weight
• Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA)
• Perform design verification testing (DVT) using vibration, shock, and temperature cycle profiles from standard such as MIL-STD-810.
• Design for EMI and RFI shielding with state-of-the-art shielding techniques involving robotically placed shield cans, EMI gaskets, and metallization of housing
• Analyze 3D CAD interface between electrical board design (ECAD) and mechanical design (MCAD) to check for component interference
• Create board constraint inputs to electrical board design
• Generate reports, do presentations and design reviews
• Create Bill of Materials and perform cost analysis
