Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to participate in mechanical design, prototype build, and production of military and commercial products, including ruggedized assemblies and robotic systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks, and eligibility for a DoD security clearance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust electromechanical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
• 2–4 years of mechanical design experience; MSME 0-3 yrs acceptable.
• Proficient in Creo or SolidWorks for CAD models and drawings.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will perform as an engineering team member on projects.
• Create designs and documentation, implement design changes, build prototype systems.
• Create detailed designs and drawings for fabrication.
• Support in-house and field testing of prototype hardware.
• Act as an engineering liaison to manufacturing and quality.
• Support existing electromechanical design, layout, and modeling of electro-mechanical assemblies, machinery and mechanisms (using CREO and/or Solidworks).
• Interface with suppliers to support procurement of fabricated parts.
• Participate in the formal Engineering Change process.
• Resolve manufacturing and quality issues, and report on equipment build status.
• Perform basic tolerance analysis.
