Job summary

AMETEK Amplifier Research in Souderton, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and validation of advanced RF and microwave power amplifier products and subsystems.

The role requires guiding projects from concept through production, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with multiple teams to deliver high‑performance RF solutions that meet business objectives and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 8–10 years RF/microwave design experience, or master’s degree with 6+ years in the field.
• Proven experience designing RF and microwave power amplifiers and related subsystems.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line theory, impedance matching, Smith Chart analysis, and microwave engineering principles.
• Proficiency with RF design and simulation tools (ADS, Microwave Office, or equivalent).
• Extensive hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters).
• Experience translating customer and system requirements into robust RF designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, development, and optimization of RF and microwave circuits for broadband, high‑power amplifier systems.
• Define RF architectures and technical approaches for new product development programs.
• Perform advanced RF component characterization, modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical oversight across development activities.
• Develop matching networks, power combining structures, gain stages, and related RF subsystems.
• Drive prototype development, integration, testing, and qualification activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain).
• Generate and maintain high-quality technical documentation (specifications, design reports, test reports).
