AV in Germantown, MD, is seeking Mechanical Engineers to work onsite at Albuquerque, NM or Germantown, MD, offices, supporting design, analysis, integration, and testing of advanced RF and electromechanical systems. As part of the team, you will contribute across the full product lifecycle—from early design and analysis to prototyping, qualification, production, and field support.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design, analysis, product development, or hardware integration; level determined by experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, drawings, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with structural, thermal, vibration, or environmental analysis methods.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, if required.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, enclosures, chassis, fixtures, payloads, and support equipment for advanced RF and electromechanical systems.
• Create and maintain SolidWorks CAD models, assemblies, drawings, BOMs, and configuration-controlled docs.
• Perform or support structural, thermal, vibration, and tolerance analyses using ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar tools.
• Apply GD&T and design-for-manufacturability/assembly principles.
• Develop electronics-packaging and thermal-management solutions including heatsinks and conduction cooling.
• Collaborate with RF, electrical, FPGA, software, systems, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and test teams.
• Support full product lifecycle: prototyping, fabrication, assembly, integration, environmental testing, qualification, production, field support.
• Participate in design reviews and support configuration management, PLM, and engineering change processes.
• Investigate design/manufacturing/test issues and support root-cause and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing to improve producibility, readiness, cost, quality, and schedule.
