Job summary

Delek US Holdings is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support safe, reliable refinery operations and cost-effective performance. You will assess fixed and rotating equipment, develop practical solutions, and assist with maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Process Engineering, and contractors to improve equipment reliability and refinery throughput.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required; PE/ITE preferred.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience in refining/chemical processing is required.
• Engineer-in-Training or PE licensure preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for refinery fixed and rotating equipment (pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, etc.).
• Evaluate equipment performance and root-cause failures; lead or support corrective actions.
• Support the refinery mechanical integrity program through inspections, fitness-for-service, and remaining-life evaluations.
• Develop scopes, specifications, data sheets, calculations, and design packages for maintenance and capital projects.
• Review drawings, P&ID’s, calculations, and vendor proposals for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Provide field support for troubleshooting, installation, startup, and testing in operating units.
• Participate in hazard analyses, pre-startup safety reviews, and incident investigations.
• Ensure designs comply with refinery procedures, PSM, and API/ASME/National Board standards.
