Job summary

Nori Robotics (YC S26) is seeking a hands-on mechanical engineer to turn ideas into manufacturable robot hardware quickly. You will design parts, mechanisms and enclosures using CAD and help iterate prototypes through fabrication methods.

You’ll design for manufacturing, develop fixtures and assembly instructions, test parts on robots, and collaborate with electrical and software teams to resolve integration issues in our San Francisco warehouse.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD skills and hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Proven track record moving designs from CAD to prototypes.
• Understanding of materials, tolerances, fasteners and manufacturing.
• Some robotics experience and a good eye for proportion, finish and product aesthetics.
• Portfolio showing things you personally designed and built.

Responsibilities

• Design robot parts, mechanisms, enclosures and assemblies in CAD software.
• Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printers, laser cutters, vacuum forming and other fabrication processes.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly, balancing appearance, durability, cost and ease of repair.
• Develop fixtures, jigs, drawings and assembly instructions for production.
• Test parts on real robots and collaborate with electrical and software engineers to resolve integration issues.
