Job summary

True Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to own subsystems for autonomous robotic hardware in a San Francisco environment. You will drive concepts through prototypes, select materials, and guide fabrication to deliver robust subsystems.

The position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2–5 years of experience with 6DOF robotic arms, with strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Fusion 360) and hands-on fabrication abilities. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years designing mechanical hardware for 6DOF robotic arms or similar systems.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD tools.
• Hands-on prototype-to-hardware experience (mechanisms, joints, drivetrains, end effectors).
• Experience shipping hardware in startup or small, hands-on teams.
• Practical fabrication skills: 3D printing, CNC machining, and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical subsystems from concepts through prototyping and iterative refinement.
• Create parts and assemblies in CAD; use hand calculations and FEA to guide design decisions.
• Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printers, shop tools, and CNC equipment.
• Integrate mechanical designs with motors, sensors, electronics, and actuators on robotic arms and mobile bases.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and robotics teams to deploy autonomous systems for production deployment.
