Job summary

Textron Systems, in the Howe & Howe Technologies group, is seeking mechanical engineers to join a fast-paced R&D team. You will perform detailed mechanical design, analysis, and system integration, using SolidWorks and CAD tools to create specifications and drawings for fabrication and sub-contractors.

The role spans concept development, prototyping, testing oversight, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and design documentation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and time constraints.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems.
• Experience in DoD environment preferred; security clearance ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions to engineering problems.
• Contribute to concept development with cross-functional design teams; prototyping and production support.
• Generate statements of work and monitor outside contractor performance.
• Liaise with sub-contractors, external manufacturers, and customers at all levels.
• Oversee unit testing and integration by junior staff; ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform detailed design using solid modeling, drafting, and tolerance analysis.
• Prepare high-quality engineering documentation to support fabrication.
