Job summary

NewMarket Corporation in Utah is seeking a mechanical engineer to support the design, maintenance, reliability, and expansion of chemical manufacturing facilities. You will manage capital projects, develop scopes, schedules, and ensure compliance with ASME/API.

Initially contribute to the Mechanical Integrity Program and progressively assume ownership, coordinating with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and outside firms to safely implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Typically 1–3+ years of experience in Chemical/Manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for safe, reliable operation, maintenance, improvement, and expansion of the plant.
• Design, evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve mechanical equipment and systems; develop repair and reliability improvement recommendations.
• Apply ASME/API codes and standards to equipment evaluations and projects.
• Manage capital, maintenance, reliability, expansion, and improvement projects with scope, budgets, schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate with outside firms, vendors, and plant departments to execute projects.
• Develop and implement the Mechanical Integrity Program; advance to ownership of the program.
