Job summary

Cowpens? Chemours in Parkersburg, WV seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support manufacturing operations and lead MIQA/PSM initiatives. The role focuses on providing mechanical guidance for projects, troubleshooting equipment, and driving safety, quality, and cost improvements.

The candidate will initiate CODs, perform RCA for failures, and collaborate across teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 5 years of Engineering experience (Co-ops included).
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems with data-based decisions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willing and able to wear required PPE (steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators).

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support to the manufacturing area operations.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise for project work ensuring compliance with specs and standards.
• Provide mechanical troubleshooting and modification guidance for equipment and facilities.
• Initiate Change of Designs (CODs) to improve safety, quality, environment, and cost.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
• Lead MIQA efforts and PS M criticality assessments, spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans and frequencies.
