Job summary

Chemours seeks a Chemical Process Engineer to support the Monomer/P&S/SW Manufacturing Technology team at Washington Works in Parkersburg, WV. You will work with operations, maintenance and other engineers to ensure safe, efficient processes and lead improvements.

You will participate in commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and capital projects, with opportunities to grow technical responsibility as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Monitor chemical process performance and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Partner with operators, maintenance and engineering teams to improve performance, reliability, capacity and uptime.
• Develop and implement chemical process improvements including changes to conditions, piping and controls.
• Support design and execution of process engineering projects, including small capital projects and plant upgrades.
• Develop and maintain process documentation such as P&IDs and block flow diagrams.
• Conduct field assessments and audits of equipment and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Support preventive and predictive programs related to process reliability.
• Participate in commissioning, startups, shutdowns, turnarounds and equipment restoration activities.
• Support process experiments, testing, and data collection to evaluate and improve operations.
