Job summary

Black & Veatch is hiring an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support piping design and structural analysis for critical infrastructure projects. The role offers exposure to multiple offices and potential relocation eligibility.

You will join a team focused on pressure boundary design, learn through diverse assignments, and contribute to deliverables while developing professionally within a 100% ESOP-owned firm. Hybrid work options may be offered after an initial orientation period.

Qualifications

• Mechanics of Materials, fatigue, creep, fracture mechanics knowledge preferred.
• Statics and machine design coursework desirable.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and apply departmental design guides, standards and codes.
• Perform pressure design and wall thickness calculations.
• Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Contribute to basic engineering deliverables like drawings and reports.
• Gather and manage data for engineering work; perform basic calculations.
