Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an entry‑level Mechanical Engineer to address critical infrastructure challenges. You will contribute to diverse, impactful projects while growing professionally within a 100% ESOP‑owned company.

The role sits in a piping sub‑discipline, with opportunities to work on pressure boundary design and structural analysis across multiple U.S. offices, including Overland Park and Cary. Hybrid work may be offered after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Preferred coursework in mechanics of materials, statics and machine design.
• Familiarity with piping design principles and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity with departmental design guides, standards and codes.
• Performs pressure design and wall thickness calculations.
• Contributes to piping and instrumentation diagram development.
• Ensures compliance with the quality program and budget requirements.
• Prepares basic engineering deliverables such as drawings and reports.
