Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in California to lead complete mechanical designs for small and large projects with emphasis on piping systems. The role requires 3+ years of industrial experience and a Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

PE registration is highly preferred; you will develop layouts, perform stress analyses, and coordinate with multiple disciplines. The position entails on-site startup support, fieldwork, and producing construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of design standards, codes and piping systems.
• Experience with field data collection and on-site startup support.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete designs for mechanical engineering assignments under general supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Produce detail design calculations and sketches for construction materials.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for mechanical input.
• Provide on-site startup assistance and fieldwork as needed.
• Coordinate with design leaders across disciplines to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist drafting group with layout and detailing problems.
• Develop construction specifications and procurement packages.
• Support junior engineers with guidance and mentoring.
