Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a mechanical engineer with 3+ years of experience to perform complete designs for small and large projects. The role emphasizes piping systems, design standards, and collaboration with other disciplines, with on-site startup support and detailed design calculations.

You will develop conceptual layouts, material specifications, and cost studies to determine efficient approaches, while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineering registration highly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience."
• Knowledge of piping design, codes, standards, and practices.
• Experience with piping materials, sizing, and supports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical engineering designs under general supervision.
• Follow department design and drafting standards; draft and check calculations.
• Provide on-site support during startup and field data collection.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Prepare detail designs, calculations, and sketches for construction.
• Assist drafting group with layouts and drawings for procurement packages.
• Coordinate with designers from other disciplines for timely information flow.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for mechanical input.
• Develop construction specifications and review submittals.
