Job summary

Wieland is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Pine Hall, NC, on-site to design, troubleshoot, and improve machinery. You will maintain drawings and documentation and collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams on shop floor projects.

The role requires hands-on mechanical design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Siemens NX, and strong communication skills to support a fast-paced environment. On-call duties apply for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical school with 3 years related experience.
• At least 5 years in Mechanical Eng./Maintenance.
• Experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment; strong multitasking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong work ethic; collaborative and goal-oriented.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Siemens NX or similar.

Responsibilities

• Supports Maintenance personnel with engineering and technical knowledge to assist in trouble shooting, repairs, training.
• New Equipment Feasibility Analysis.
• Uses AutoCAD/Siemens NX to develop concepts and designs for machine improvements.
• Communicates with personnel at all levels regarding technical details of machines.
• Inspects and acts on supplier-delivered materials/equipment out of specification.
• Assists in cost avoidance and cost reduction activities.
• Mantains professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
• On-call status required during emergencies or adverse conditions
